Accreditation Standards Threatened
This affects all hygienists and future hygienists. The Council on Dental Accreditation (CODA) has been asked to consider removing the dental hygiene diagnosis language from our educational standards. It's important they hear from all hygienists. ODHA has written a letter (see home page) and CODHA has written a letter as well. These association letters represent the opinions of members only. If you are a non member you are not represented by these asssociations and its very important you write your own letter. Please feel free to copy CODHA's letter and edit to your taste. Respond by July 1, address is in the letter.

Volunteer Opportunities
Kemple Clinic, 541-617-1653, Vicki. This non-profit Clinic provides prophys, radiographs, sealants and screenings for underpriveleged childred. Supervising Dentist is Dr. Cate Quaas.
Northwest Medical Teams Van - They travel to remote locations such as Christmas Valley, Gilchrist and Fossil to provide services for needy adults and children. They also provide care for underserved communities closer in. Contact Debbie Stumbaugh for information about where she's going next! Watch for a dental blitz where hygienists will be needed to do local anesthetic while dentists provide treatment. 541-977-4357 dstumbaugh@medicalteams.org.
Healthy Beginnings - Mara sets up dental screenings for the under 5 set . Everything is provided, and patients will be referred to dentists if needed. Call her at 541-383-6357
