The Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association is a member of the Healthy Smiles Coalition. In 2001, the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors recommended that a coalition be formed to promote dental health statewide. In 2004, the Oregon Dental Association established the Healthy Smiles Coalition.

The Oregon Dental Hygienists’ Association is a member of the Oregon Rural Health Association. The mission of the ORHA is “to improve the health of rural Oregonians.” Their primary goals are to:
- Help ensure all Oregon residents have access to a continuum of affordable, quality health care services.
- Help support public policy initiatives to facilitate these services.
- Help strengthen rural communities.
- Network with other professions to share problems and problem-solving experiences.
Lynn Ironside, ODHA Change Agent and Government Relations Council Chair, has served as the treasurer of the ORHA and is now ORHA President. The ORHA supports ODHA’s legislative agenda. This organization depends on organizational and individual member’s dues for support. Please consider a membership in ORHA, especially if you are in a rural area of Oregon. The Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association is a member of the Healthy Kids Learn Better Coalition. The HKLB Coalition is a growing partnership of diverse organizations and individuals working together to reduce the physical, social and emotional barriers to learning through advocating for policy and funding that support quality school health programs.
