Guideline for Constituent and Component Bylaws (available at www.adha.org on the "Members" page, then "Resources")

These guidelines are of considerable value to constituents when they revise and update their bylaws. Although state law takes precedence over these guidelines, it is important that ADHA constituents not be in conflict with the bylaws of the parent organization. Therefore, these guidelines have been developed to ensure that constituents and components are in compliance with the bylaws of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. 

Constituents that are incorporated are governed by the not-for-profit corporation laws of the
state in which they are incorporated..........
