President's Message

     I am fairly new to the ODHA so I am sure that some of you do not know my story.  I began my dental hygiene career as a student and single mother at Mt. Hood Community College in 1988.  I chose dental hygiene because, of the health related careers I explored, it gave me the opportunity to fully support myself and my two small children in a relatively short amount of time.  (Continued.....)

HB 2867 passed and signed by the Governor -

  • Hygienists can diagnose and treatment plan for dental hygiene services.
  • Hygienists can determine the need for and apply sealants in designated settings.
  • LAP requirement now 2,500 hours (instead of 5000).
